Global 75 or Global 170?

This plan covers the countries most international trips actually visit, for less than the Global (170 countries) plan. Before you buy, check the country list below against your route. These are some of the places it leaves out:

  • Latin America: Mexico, Brazil and every country in Central and South America.
  • The Middle East and Africa: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and most of Africa. Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait are covered.
  • Asia: Cambodia, Laos, the Maldives and Nepal.

If any of those is on your trip, the Global (170 countries) plan covers it.

Which plan fits your trip

  • A one-day plan with 0.6 GB, for a layover or a single day in a country you are passing through.
  • Daily data, 0.6 GB a day for 3 days, or 1.5 GB a day for 7, 15 or 30 days. Suits a multi-country trip with steady use every day. After the day's allowance, speed drops until the allowance resets.

Your allowance is shared across every country on the list: no separate quota per country. See fixed, daily or unlimited for how each type behaves.

Staying in one region?

Global 75 is the plan for a trip that crosses regions, such as Europe then the United States, or Japan then Australia. If your whole trip stays in one region, compare it with that region's own plan: Europe for 30 European countries, or Asia Pacific for 22 destinations from Japan to Australia.

Before you fly

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked: the 30-second check.
  2. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android.
  3. When you land, switch data roaming on for the eSIM line only.

Networks in Global (75 countries)

The plan connects to a local partner network in each covered country, so data roaming must be on for the eSIM line. Coverage follows the local networks: strong in the cities, thinner in remote areas. Want to know which network a plan uses in a given country? Ask us at support@esimlounge.com.

How to install your eSIM

Install it at home before you fly, then switch it on when you land.

  1. Check your phone

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier unlocked. Most phones from the last few years do.

  2. Scan the QR code

Scan the code from your email while you still have Wi-Fi at home. It takes about two minutes.

  3. Switch on when you land

Turn on the eSIM line and data roaming for it. Keep your usual SIM for calls and texts if you like.

Global (75 countries) eSIM questions

Does it cover the United States and Canada?

Yes. Both are on the list, along with most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia's main destinations, Australia and New Zealand.

Does it cover Mexico or South America?

No. Mexico, Brazil and the rest of Central and South America are not on the list. The Global (170 countries) plan covers them.

Do I need a new eSIM in each country?

No. One install covers every country on the list. Your phone joins a local partner network automatically when you arrive.

Will I keep my phone number?

Yes. Your usual SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and the eSIM carries your mobile data. Keep data roaming off on your usual SIM to avoid roaming fees.

When does the plan start?

On most plans, the days start counting when the eSIM first connects to a network in a covered country, not when you install it.
