Stay online in Singapore from the moment you land at Changi, for a city break, a conference or a stopover. Install a data eSIM before you fly, keep your usual number for calls and texts, and use maps, Grab, the MRT and messaging apps from the arrivals hall onwards.

Which Singapore plan fits your trip
Singapore plans come in three shapes, from 1 to 30 days. The plan cards above show what is on sale:
- Daily data, 0.6 GB or 1.5 GB a day. Suits steady use: maps, ride-hailing, messaging and photos every day.
- Fixed data, from 20 GB for three days up to 60 GB for two weeks. Use it however you like over the trip.
- Unlimited, 3 to 15 days. For heavy users and business trips with a laptop. A fair-use policy applies; the plan details say how.
- A one-day plan covers a stopover at Changi.
See fixed, daily or unlimited for how each type behaves.
Coverage across the island
Singapore is small and densely covered: the city centre, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Jurong and the heartland estates, the MRT tunnels and stations, and the expressways all have strong signal. The only weak spots are deep inside some buildings, at sea, and around the edges of the nature reserves.
Before you land: the SG Arrival Card
Every traveler flying into Singapore must submit the free SG Arrival Card in the days before arrival. Our guide to arriving in Singapore explains what to do before you land and at Changi immigration.
Arriving at the airport
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi a day or two before you fly. When you land at Changi, turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only and keep it off on your usual SIM. You can then book a Grab, check the MRT into the city or message your hotel from the arrivals hall.
Conferences and events
Singapore hosts large conferences and trade shows, and networks around the venues carry heavy traffic on show days. Install your eSIM before you fly, keep data spare for sharing a connection with a laptop, and carry a power bank.
Visiting more than Singapore?
The Asia Pacific plan covers Singapore together with Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other destinations in one install, and the global plans cover it too, which suits a day trip to Johor Bahru or a trip that continues across the region. Compare the cost with your own carrier in travel eSIM vs international roaming.
Networks in Singapore
Singapore has four mobile networks: Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA. Singtel, StarHub and M1 switched off their 3G networks in 2024, so service runs on 4G and 5G. A travel eSIM connects to one of them as a roaming partner, which is why data roaming must be on for the eSIM line. The partner network can differ from plan to plan, so check the plan details, or ask us at support@esimlounge.com before you buy.
How to install your eSIM
Install it at home before you fly, then switch it on when you land.
Check your phone
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier unlocked. Most phones from the last few years do.
Scan the QR code
Scan the code from your email while you still have Wi-Fi at home. It takes about two minutes.
Switch on when you land
Turn on the eSIM line and data roaming for it. Keep your usual SIM for calls and texts if you like.
Singapore eSIM questions
Is there a plan for a stopover at Changi?
Yes. The one-day plan suits a layover or a single day in Singapore. Check the plan cards above for what is on sale.
Does the eSIM work on the MRT?
Yes. The MRT tunnels and stations have mobile coverage on all of Singapore's networks.
Can I use it on a day trip to Johor Bahru?
A Singapore plan works in Singapore only. The Asia Pacific plan covers both Singapore and Malaysia with one install.
Will I keep my phone number?
Yes. Your usual SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and the eSIM carries your mobile data. Keep data roaming off on your usual SIM to avoid roaming fees.
When does the plan start counting days?
On most plans the days start when the eSIM first connects to a network in Singapore, not when you install it. The plan details say how yours works.
