Singapore FinTech Festival 2026: eSIM and connectivity guide

The Singapore FinTech Festival brings policymakers, banks and fintech companies to one large exhibition center at the east end of the island. Singapore is one of the easiest cities in the world to stay connected in, but a show this size still rewards a little preparation. Here is what to know.

Dates and venue

Dates November 18 to 20, 2026
City Singapore
Venue Singapore EXPO
Official site fintechfestival.sg

Dates and venue are from the official festival site, checked in October 2026. The site also lists the invite-only Insights2040 Annual Meetings on November 16 and 17 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, which is in Marina Bay, a different part of the city. Check the official site for the final program.

From the airport to the venue

Singapore EXPO is close to Changi Airport (SIN), which makes this one of the simpler conference arrivals.

  • MRT. Changi Airport has its own MRT station. Trains run from there to Expo station, the stop for the venue, in one stop and a few minutes. You can tap in with a contactless bank card at the gates.
  • Taxi or ride-hailing. Taxis queue outside every terminal, and ride-hailing apps such as Grab operate across Singapore. The ride to Singapore EXPO is usually about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • From the city center. Many visitors stay in the center or around Marina Bay. Expo station is on the Downtown line, so many central hotels have a direct or one-change MRT ride. Allow about 30 to 45 minutes from the center, depending on where you start.

Taxi queues and MRT trains around Expo get crowded at opening time and when the halls close, so leave a little extra time.

Staying connected

The local networks

Singapore's mobile networks are Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA. Coverage is very good across the island, including underground on the MRT. A travel eSIM connects to a local partner network.

Venue Wi-Fi will be busy

Even in a well-connected city, thousands of people in the same halls can slow venue Wi-Fi at peak times, such as keynotes and lunch breaks. Your own mobile data keeps your badge, meeting app and messages working without waiting for a connection.

Hotspotting a laptop

If you need to send a deck or join a call between sessions, hotspot your laptop from your phone. Pause cloud backups and automatic updates on the laptop first, and keep the phone charging while it shares. See fixed, daily or unlimited data to pick a plan that fits laptop use.

Bring a power bank

Three days of maps, messages, badges and hotspotting will drain a phone well before evening events. Carry a charged power bank and a short cable.

Install before you fly

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked: the 30-second check.
  2. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android.
  3. When you land at Changi, turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only, and keep it off on your home SIM.

Before you fly, also submit the free SG Arrival Card within the three days before you land: what to do before arriving in Singapore.

Which coverage fits

Singapore has its own country plans in our catalogue. It is also part of our Asia Pacific region, which covers 18 destinations including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan.

  • Singapore only: a Singapore plan is the simplest choice.
  • Several stops in the region: an Asia Pacific plan covers the whole trip with one install. That suits a visit that adds Kuala Lumpur or Bali, or a trip that also takes in Hong Kong FinTech Week earlier in November.

Thailand is on the list too; see our Thailand guide if you add a few days there.

Compare our Singapore eSIM plans, or the Asia Pacific plans for a trip with several stops.
