Xfinity Mobile's latest plans (Mobile Plus, Mobile Select and Premium Unlimited) include international data, talk and text in 215+ destinations, with 10 GB of high-speed data a month, then slower data. On other Unlimited and By the Gig plans, you pay for the Global Travel Pass: $10 a day per line, with 5 GB of high-speed data per 24 hours. In Mexico and Canada, data, calls and texts are included on plans you joined or moved to after 22 March 2024; on older plans, Xfinity sells a $5-a-month Mexico and Canada pass.
On a pass, two weeks in Europe come to $140 per line. Our 15-day Europe plan with 1.5 GB a day costs $19.99, and your Xfinity number stays on for calls and texts.
What Xfinity Mobile includes abroad
From Xfinity's Global Travel Pass FAQ and its international plans page, checked on 20 October 2026:
| Where | Mobile Plus, Mobile Select, Premium Unlimited | Other Unlimited and By the Gig plans |
|---|---|---|
| 215+ destinations | Included: unlimited data with 10 GB at high speed a month, then up to 14 Mbps | Global Travel Pass, $10 a day per line |
| Each pass day | Not needed | Your plan's talk, text and data, 5 GB at high speed, then slower data (Xfinity says 3 Mbps) |
| Mexico and Canada | Included on plans joined or updated after 22 March 2024 | Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass: $5 a month with 5 GB of high-speed data, or the Global Travel Pass |
| No pass, no included plan | n/a | Pay per use: $0.30 per MB of data |
Xfinity says its latest plans start at $30 a month. Check the Activity page in the Xfinity app for what your own line includes before you fly: if your plan already covers your trip and you stay under 10 GB, you need nothing else.
How the Global Travel Pass works
- A pass is a 24-hour day. You are not charged until you use data in a covered destination, and the pass then covers that line for 24 hours.
- Each line pays its own pass. A couple traveling together pays $20 a day.
- After 5 GB in a day, data slows down until the next pass day. Maps and messages still work; video calls and hotspot use suffer.
- Who can buy it: lines on an Unlimited or By the Gig plan. Xfinity says a phone line must have made domestic calls (not Wi-Fi calls) before you order the pass.
- Without a pass, data costs $0.30 per MB, which adds up very quickly: 1 GB would be about $300.

When a travel eSIM is cheaper
- On a plan without included international data, for any trip of more than a couple of days outside Mexico and Canada. At $10 a day, the pass passes our 15-day Europe plan on the second day.
- On Mobile Plus or Mobile Select, when 10 GB a month is not enough: a two-week trip with photos, maps and video calls can use more than that, and the eSIM gives you 1.5 GB every day.
- When you need more than 5 GB in a day of full-speed data on the pass, or you share your connection with a laptop.
- On a trip through several countries, where one regional eSIM covers them all: our Europe plan covers 30 countries.
Xfinity is the better choice when your plan includes international data and 10 GB covers your trip, for Mexico and Canada, or for a single day abroad.
A travel eSIM needs a phone that takes an eSIM and is unlocked: check yours in 30 seconds, and if you bought the phone from Xfinity, confirm with Xfinity that it is unlocked before you buy an eSIM: is my phone unlocked?
Setting it up: Xfinity for your number, an eSIM for data
- Install the travel eSIM at home, on Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Calling for your Xfinity line, so calls to US numbers work over Wi-Fi.
- When you land, set the eSIM as your line for mobile data and turn on data roaming for the eSIM only.
- On your Xfinity line, turn data roaming off, and on iPhone turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching, so the phone never uses Xfinity for data.
- Remember that using your Xfinity line abroad can start a Global Travel Pass day on plans that do not include international use. Use Wi-Fi calling or apps to stay at $0.
If the eSIM shows No Service when you land, see eSIM not working abroad.

FAQ
How much is the Xfinity Mobile Global Travel Pass?
$10 a day per line in 215+ destinations. Each 24-hour pass uses your plan's talk, text and data, with 5 GB of high-speed data, then slower data until the next day. You are not charged until you use data in a covered destination.
Does Xfinity Mobile include international roaming?
Yes, on its latest plans. Xfinity says Mobile Plus, Mobile Select and Premium Unlimited include international data, talk and text in 215+ destinations, with 10 GB of high-speed data a month. Other plans pay $10 a day for the Global Travel Pass.
Does Xfinity Mobile work in Mexico and Canada?
Yes. On plans you joined or updated after 22 March 2024, data, calls and texts in Mexico and Canada are included at no extra cost. On older plans, Xfinity sells a Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass at $5 a month with 5 GB of high-speed data.
How do I avoid roaming charges on Xfinity Mobile?
Check what your plan includes in the Xfinity app. On plans without included international use, turn data roaming off on your Xfinity line, avoid normal calls and texts abroad, and use Wi-Fi calling or apps. For data, use a travel eSIM on a second line.
Is a travel eSIM cheaper than the Xfinity Global Travel Pass?
For trips of more than two days outside Mexico and Canada, usually yes: two weeks in Europe cost $140 per line on the pass and $19.99 with our 15-day Europe eSIM. On Mobile Plus or Mobile Select, the eSIM is about more data, not about the price.
