Visible works abroad through Global Pass, its roaming add-on, which you switch on in the Visible app before you travel. In Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands it costs $5 a day on the Visible plan and is included on Visible+ and Visible+ Pro. In the other 140 countries it covers, it costs $10 a day, with unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of high-speed data each day. Visible+ includes one Global Pass day a month and Visible+ Pro two.

For Mexico and Canada on Visible+ or Visible+ Pro, Visible is the easy choice. For a week or more anywhere else, or for a country Global Pass does not cover, a travel eSIM for data alongside your Visible line usually costs less, and you keep your number.

Two weeks in Europe? On the Visible plan, Global Pass comes to $140. Our 15-day Europe plan with 1.5 GB a day costs $19.99, with no new charge at each border.

What each Visible plan includes abroad

Plan Monthly price Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands Other Global Pass countries (140)
Visible $25 Global Pass at $5 a day Global Pass at $10 a day, no days included
Visible+ $35 Included: unlimited talk and text, 2 GB of high-speed data a day $10 a day; 1 day included each month (12 a year on the annual plan)
Visible+ Pro $45 Included: unlimited talk and text, 2 GB of high-speed data a day $10 a day; 2 days included each month (24 a year on the annual plan)

Those are Visible's regular monthly prices, taxes and fees included. Paid yearly, the plans cost $275, $375 and $450. At the time of writing, Visible also offers $5 a month off Visible+ and Visible+ Pro with a promo code.

On every plan, data roaming beyond the daily 2 GB carries on at 3G speeds. Visible's terms also let it disable or limit service in a destination if more than 50% of your talk, text or data over 60 days is used there: roaming is for trips, not for living abroad.

Does Visible work in Mexico?

Yes. On Visible+ and Visible+ Pro, Mexico is included: unlimited talk and text within Mexico and back to the US, plus 2 GB of high-speed data a day, then 3G speeds for the rest of the day. Visible says Global Pass is not triggered in Mexico on these plans, even if you have it switched on.

On the Visible plan, Mexico is not included. You need Global Pass, which costs $5 a day there, with the same unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of high-speed data a day.

All three plans include unlimited calls and texts to Mexican and Canadian numbers while you are in the US. That is calling from home, not roaming: it does not cover using your phone in Mexico.

One thing to check before you go: Visible says roaming is not yet enabled on certain devices, and it names phones that work on Visible but cannot roam at all (see the FAQ below). If you bought your phone elsewhere, Visible asks you to check its roaming capability with the maker.

Does Visible work in Canada?

Yes, on the same terms as Mexico. Visible+ and Visible+ Pro include unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of high-speed data a day in Canada. On the Visible plan, Global Pass costs $5 a day in Canada. Visible puts Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands in the same group, so the same rules apply there.

Everywhere else: Global Pass

Beyond those four, Global Pass covers 140 countries at $10 a day. Each day gives you:

  • unlimited talk and text within the country you are in and back to the US,
  • 2 GB of high-speed data, then 3G speeds until the day ends,
  • mobile hotspot, from that same data.

How the day works. Once Global Pass is on, a 24-hour session starts when your phone connects to a foreign carrier's network, and you are charged that country's daily rate automatically. You do not have to make a call or open an app: connecting is enough. If you cross into another Global Pass country within the same 24 hours, a new session starts and you pay another daily fee. On a trip through several European countries in a few days, that can mean two charges in one day.

Included days. Visible+ includes one Global Pass day a month and Visible+ Pro two. On monthly plans, unused days bank up to 12 at a time, and no new days are added while the bank is full. On the annual plans, the 12 (Visible+) or 24 (Visible+ Pro) days arrive as soon as you pay for the year, and any left at renewal do not roll over. If you upgrade mid-cycle, your first included day arrives the following month.

Where it works. The list includes most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, the UAE, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Bahamas and the UK. Several popular destinations are not on Visible's list as of 11 October 2026, among them Monaco, Andorra, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Nepal, Tanzania, Mauritius, Cuba and Bahrain. Check every country of your trip against the list on Visible's Global Pass page before you go.

How to turn on Global Pass

Visible's steps:

  1. Sign in to the Visible app or your account on visible.com.
  2. Go to Overview and select Global Pass.
  3. Agree to the Global Pass terms and select Enable Global Pass. If Autopay is off, you also have to agree to the Autopay terms.

Visible's terms list what you need before you leave: a phone that can roam abroad (a "5G or 4G World device with HD voice"), a valid payment method, Autopay switched on, and cellular data roaming and Wi-Fi Calling turned on in your phone's settings. Visible says it texts you about your usage and when you have used the day's data, but these alerts are a courtesy it does not guarantee.

What happens without Global Pass

Visible's terms make enabling Global Pass a condition of using your Visible service outside the US. Visible's plan and Global Pass pages list no pay-as-you-go roaming rate, so if Global Pass is off, plan on your Visible line not working on foreign networks. The exception is Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands on Visible+ and Visible+ Pro, where roaming is part of the plan.

What a two-week trip costs with Visible

Take one person spending 14 days in Europe, using the phone every day and staying in one country at a time:

  • Visible: 14 days at $10 = $140.
  • Visible+ with one included day: 13 days at $10 = $130.
  • Visible+ Pro with two included days: 12 days at $10 = $120. With a full bank of 12 days, it drops to $20.

Add $10 for each day you cross into another country within a session. A couple traveling together pays for each line.

For one week in Mexico, the Visible plan costs 7 days at $5 = $35 in Global Pass. Visible+ includes Mexico and costs $10 a month more than Visible at regular prices, so for a Mexico trip the higher plan is the cheaper route.

When a travel eSIM is cheaper

A travel eSIM is a second, data-only line on your phone, bought for one country or region and sized for the trip. Your Visible line stays on the phone. It usually wins when:

  • You are on the Visible plan, or out of included days, for a week or more abroad. At $10 a day, Global Pass adds up fast, while a travel eSIM is priced for the whole trip.
  • You need more than 2 GB a day. Maps, video calls, photo backups and a laptop on hotspot can go past Global Pass's daily high-speed allowance, after which you are on 3G speeds until the next day.
  • You visit several countries quickly. A regional eSIM covers them all on one plan, with no new daily charge at each border.
  • Your destination is not on Visible's list, or your phone is one of the models Visible says cannot roam.

Visible is the better choice for Mexico and Canada on Visible+ or Visible+ Pro, for a trip short enough for your banked days, or when you need lots of calls on your US number. Compare our Europe eSIM plans or the Mexico eSIM page with the numbers above for your own dates.

A travel eSIM needs a phone that takes an eSIM and is unlocked. Visible says each eSIM device has dual SIM capability, so the two lines can sit side by side. Phones bought from Visible on or after 20 January 2026 are locked to Visible until they have been active on your account, and paid for, for 365 days, then unlocked on request (a phone financed through Affirm can be unlocked once the loan is paid off, if that comes first). Phones bought before that date unlock automatically after 60 days. Check your phone in 30 seconds.

Setting it up: Visible for your number, an eSIM for data

  1. Make sure your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked: the 30-second check.
  2. Install the travel eSIM at home, on Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android.
  3. When you land, set the eSIM as the line for cellular data and turn on data roaming for the eSIM line.
  4. On your Visible line, turn data roaming off, and on iPhone turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching, so the phone never falls back to Visible for data.
  5. Remember that with Global Pass on, a session starts as soon as your Visible line connects to a foreign network. To avoid any daily fee, turn the Visible line off in your phone's settings and use WhatsApp, iMessage or FaceTime over the eSIM's data. To stay reachable on your number, leave it on and expect $10 a day (or an included day) whenever it connects.

On Visible+ or Visible+ Pro in Mexico or Canada, you can simply keep your Visible line on: calls, texts and 2 GB a day are included. FAQ

Does Visible have international roaming?

Yes, through Global Pass, which you enable in the Visible app. It costs $10 a day in 140 countries and $5 a day in Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands on the Visible plan, where it is included on Visible+ and Visible+ Pro. Each day includes unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of high-speed data, as of 11 October 2026.

Does Visible work in Mexico?

Yes. Visible+ and Visible+ Pro include unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of high-speed data a day in Mexico, then 3G speeds. On the Visible plan you need Global Pass, at $5 a day there. Some phones cannot roam on Visible, so check yours first.

Does Visible work in Canada?

Yes, the same way as Mexico: included on Visible+ and Visible+ Pro, with 2 GB of high-speed data a day, and $5 a day with Global Pass on the Visible plan.

How much is Visible Global Pass?

$10 a day in the 140 countries on Visible's list, and $5 a day in Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands (included on Visible+ and Visible+ Pro). A day is a 24-hour session that starts when your phone connects to a foreign network. Visible+ includes one day a month and Visible+ Pro two.

Does Visible have an international plan?

Not a separate monthly travel plan. Abroad you use Global Pass by the day. For calls from home, Visible+ Pro includes up to 500 minutes a month to more than 85 countries and unlimited texts to more than 200, and every plan includes unlimited calls and texts to Mexico and Canada from the US.

Which phones cannot roam on Visible?

Visible lists phones that work on Visible but cannot roam outside the US: ZTE Blade A3 Prime, Blade A7 Prime, Blade 10 Prime, Blade 11 Prime and Blade X1 5G; Wingtech Visible Midnight; Orbic Joy and Myra; TCL 20A 5G and 30 LE; and the Motorola moto g pure. Visible says most phones it sells can roam, and asks owners of phones bought elsewhere to check with the maker.

Can I use a travel eSIM with Visible?

Yes, if your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked. Keep your Visible line for your number and set the travel eSIM as the data line. Phones bought from Visible since 20 January 2026 stay locked for 365 days of paid service, so check before you buy an eSIM.
