Spectrum Mobile works abroad through the Global Day Pass: $10 a day per line in 190+ countries and $5 a day in Mexico and Canada, for 24 hours of unlimited talk and text and 1 GB of high-speed data, then slower data. Spectrum's Unlimited Plus plan includes 10 GB of high-speed data in 190+ countries at no extra cost, without a pass. Without a pass or Unlimited Plus, you pay by the minute and the megabyte.
Two weeks in Europe on the Global Day Pass come to $140 per line, for 1 GB of full-speed data a day. Our 15-day Europe plan with 1.5 GB a day costs $19.99, and your Spectrum number stays on for calls and texts.
What Spectrum Mobile charges abroad
Spectrum's site blocked our direct check, so these figures are Spectrum's own wording as quoted in search results on 20 October 2026, from its Global Day Pass support page and its international plans page:
| Price | What you get | |
|---|---|---|
| Global Day Pass, Mexico and Canada | $5 a day per line | 24 hours of unlimited talk and text, with 1 GB of high-speed data, then reduced speeds |
| Global Day Pass, other destinations | $10 a day per line | Same, in 190+ countries (Spectrum's plans page says 215+ countries and destinations) |
| Unlimited Plus | Included | 10 GB of high-speed data in 190+ countries at no extra cost; these lines do not see the Global Day Pass as an option |
| No pass | Pay per use | Charged by the minute, text and megabyte at Spectrum's destination rates |
Spectrum offers the Global Day Pass to By the Gig and Unlimited customers. Reviews and listings from other sites still quote older figures (a flat $5 pass, or 90 to 200 countries), so if a number you read elsewhere differs, trust your Spectrum account.
From home, every Spectrum Mobile plan includes international texting to 190+ countries and calling minutes to Mexico and Canada, according to WhistleOut. That is calling from the US, not roaming.

When a travel eSIM is cheaper
- Any trip of more than two days in Europe or Asia on the pass. At $10 a day, the pass costs more than our 15-day Europe plan from the second day, and gives you less full-speed data: 1 GB a day against 1.5 GB.
- A week or more in Mexico. At $5 a day, a week costs $35 against $13.99 for our 7-day Mexico plan.
- On Unlimited Plus, when 10 GB is not enough for your trip, for example two weeks with photos, maps and video calls.
- On a trip through several countries, where one regional eSIM covers them all: our Europe plan covers 30 countries.
Spectrum is the better choice for a day or two abroad, when Unlimited Plus's 10 GB covers your trip, or when you need lots of calls on your US number.
A travel eSIM needs a phone that takes an eSIM and is unlocked: check yours in 30 seconds. If you bought the phone from Spectrum, confirm with Spectrum that it is unlocked before you buy an eSIM: is my phone unlocked?
Setting it up: Spectrum for your number, an eSIM for data
- Install the travel eSIM at home, on Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Calling for your Spectrum line, so calls to US numbers work over Wi-Fi.
- When you land, set the eSIM as your line for mobile data and turn on data roaming for the eSIM only.
- On your Spectrum line, turn data roaming off, and on iPhone turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching, so the phone never uses Spectrum for data.
- A normal call or text on your Spectrum line abroad can start a Global Day Pass or pay-per-use charges. Use Wi-Fi calling or apps to stay at $0.
If the eSIM shows No Service when you land, see eSIM not working abroad.

How much is the Spectrum Global Day Pass?
$10 a day per line in 190+ countries and $5 a day in Mexico and Canada. Each pass lasts 24 hours and includes unlimited talk and text and 1 GB of high-speed data, then reduced speeds. It is offered to By the Gig and Unlimited customers.
