Rogers Roam Like Home costs C$16 a day in the US and C$18 a day in international destinations. It lets you use your Rogers plan's data, talk and text abroad, and it starts automatically the first time your phone uses a network outside Canada that day. For longer trips, Rogers' US travel passes cost C$50 for 7 days and C$80 for 30 days.

For data alone, a US eSIM is cheaper: US$11.99 (about C$16.87) for 7 days with 1.5 GB a day, and your Rogers number stays on for calls and texts.

What Rogers charges outside Canada

Prices in Canadian dollars, before tax, as listed by Rogers in October 2026.

US, Mexico and Caribbean + cruises 3 days C$50, 7 days C$100, 10 days C$140, 14 days C$190 Includes cruise ships, with 1 GB a day at full speed at sea

The US daily rate and every travel pass above are on Rogers' travel page, checked on 20 October 2026. That page does not show the international daily rate: the C$18 figure comes from Rogers' rate notice of 7 August 2025, as reported by iPhone in Canada, and Fido, which Rogers owns, lists the same C$18 a day for international destinations on its own roaming page today. Rogers' travel page does not mention a cap per bill.

How a Roam Like Home day starts

You don't have to buy it. Once you are enrolled (Rogers says to text TRAVEL to 222), the day's charge starts the first time your phone uses a network outside Canada: a call, a sent text, or data, including an app updating in the background. You get a welcome text on arrival. If Roam Like Home is not available on your plan or in that destination, the welcome text gives the pay-per-use rates instead.

That is why phones near the border cost money: around Niagara, Windsor and Detroit or the Vancouver-Seattle corridor, your phone can join a US tower while you are still in Canada.

Rogers plans that include the US

Some current Rogers 5G+ plans include the US: Rogers lists 5G+ Essentials with "data, talk and text in US for 24 months" and 5G+ Popular with the US, Mexico and the Caribbean for 24 months. If you are on one of these, you may not need anything for a US trip. Check your plan in the Rogers app, including how much US data it gives you.

What a US trip costs: Rogers or a US eSIM

For data on one phone:

Trip Roam Like Home daily Rogers US pass Our US eSIM
3 days C$48 C$25 US$7.99 (about C$11.25)
7 days C$112 C$50 US$11.99 (about C$16.87)
14 days C$224 C$60 US$17.99 (about C$25.32), 15 days
30 days C$480 C$80 US$23.99 (about C$33.76)

Our plans give 1.5 GB of full-speed data a day. US dollar prices converted at the rate on 19 October 2026 (US$1 = C$1.4074); your card issuer's rate may differ.

The Rogers pass also covers calls and texts on your Rogers number; our eSIM is data only. If you call with WhatsApp, FaceTime or Wi-Fi calling, the eSIM covers what you need for less than half the price of the pass.

How to avoid Roam Like Home charges

  1. Install a US eSIM at home and set it as your data line: iPhone or Android. Your phone must be unlocked: check yours.
  2. Turn data roaming off on your Rogers line.
  3. Use Wi-Fi calling or apps for calls. A call or a sent text on your Rogers line in the US can still start a C$16 day.
  4. Snowbirds: for a winter in Florida or Arizona, compare the 30-day pass (C$80 a month) with a 30-day US eSIM (US$23.99, about C$33.76), or a Rogers plan that includes the US.

FAQ

How much is Rogers Roam Like Home?

C$16 a day in the US and C$18 a day in international destinations, as listed in October 2026, plus tax. Rogers also sells US travel passes from C$25 for 3 days to C$80 for 30 days.

Does Rogers work in the US?

Yes. Rogers roams on US networks in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. You pay Roam Like Home or a travel pass unless your plan includes the US, as some Rogers 5G+ plans do.

How do I avoid roaming charges with Rogers?

Turn off data roaming on your Rogers line, use a travel eSIM for data, and make calls over Wi-Fi or apps. Any call, sent text or data on a network outside Canada starts a Roam Like Home day.

Is a Rogers travel pass cheaper than Roam Like Home?

For more than a couple of days, yes: 7 days of Roam Like Home in the US costs C$112, the 7-day US pass C$50. A 7-day US eSIM costs US$11.99, about C$16.87, for data only.

Does Rogers Roam Like Home work on a cruise?

Only with the US, Mexico and Caribbean + cruises pass or the US, International + cruises pass, which cover cruise ships with 1 GB a day at full speed at sea. A land-network eSIM does not work at sea: see eSIM for a cruise.
