Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) serves Rome. Here is how to get online from the moment you land: the free Wi-Fi, where SIM cards are sold, and the eSIM you can install before you fly.

The free network is AIRPORT FREE WIFI.
Phone shops are in Terminal 3. The airport's shop directory lists Vodafone and WindTre, each with three shops in Terminal 3 on the arrivals side. A Rome travel guide updated in February 2026 also describes TIM and Vodafone booths just outside the arrivals area. The directory does not publish opening hours.
TIM's Tourist SIM costs 24.99 euros for the first 30 days: 14.99 euros for 200 GB with unlimited national calls, plus 10 euros for the SIM (price in force from 31 August 2026, checked October 2026). It is sold only in TIM shops.
Install one at home before you fly and you are online when the wheels touch down, with no queue at a SIM counter.
Italy has four mobile networks: TIM, Vodafone, WindTre and Iliad. A travel eSIM connects to one of them as a roaming partner, which is why data roaming must be on for the eSIM line. All four cover the cities and the main transport routes; differences show up in the countryside, the mountains and on the islands. The partner network can differ from plan to plan, so check the plan details, or ask us at support@esimlounge.com before you buy.
