Free Wi-Fi at SGN

Tan Son Nhat has free Wi-Fi in its terminals. To connect, open your phone's Wi-Fi settings, pick the airport's free network and accept the terms on the page that opens in your browser.

Network names and any time limits can change, so check the Wi-Fi signs in the terminal for the current network. The airport is run by ACV, Airports Corporation of Vietnam.

Buying a SIM card after arrivals

Operator counters are in the Terminal 2 (international) arrivals hall, in the public area after baggage claim and customs. Viettel has a counter there (Viettel's guide) and MobiFone has an authorized counter in international arrivals; travel guides also report a Vinaphone counter.

Viettel's 30-day tourist packages cost 150,000 VND (5 GB a day) or 180,000 VND (5 GB a day plus some call minutes), not counting the SIM itself (Viettel's own prices, checked October 2026). Bring your original passport: a photo or digital copy is not accepted for registration. Buy only from the operator counters.

eSIM plans for Vietnam

Install one at home before you fly and you are online when the wheels touch down, with no queue at a SIM counter.

Mobile networks in Vietnam

Vietnam's main mobile networks are Viettel, VinaPhone and MobiFone. A travel eSIM connects to one of them as a roaming partner, which is why data roaming must be on for the eSIM line. The partner network can differ from plan to plan, so check the plan details, or ask us at support@esimlounge.com before you buy.

  • Turn down unlicensed sellers in the arrivals hall offering deals that look too cheap. Their SIMs may be throttled or expired.
