Free Wi-Fi at HAN

The free network is @Airport Free Wifi - Goldsun. Connect, and a login page opens in your browser: tap Connect to the Internet. The airport says it covers passenger seating areas in the domestic and international terminals, and that installation in the expanded part of Terminal 2 is still in progress.

Buying a SIM card after arrivals

Viettel, Vinaphone (VNPT) and MobiFone have official counters in the Terminal 2 (international) arrivals hall, just after customs. Viettel is at section B8 and Vinaphone at B9, on the ground floor near the arrivals exit. A tourist SIM typically costs 200,000 to 300,000 VND, about US$8 to 12 (checked October 2026). Bring your passport, which the counter uses to register the SIM.

Install one at home before you fly and you are online when the wheels touch down, with no queue at a SIM counter.

Mobile networks in Vietnam

Vietnam's main mobile networks are Viettel, VinaPhone and MobiFone. A travel eSIM connects to one of them as a roaming partner, which is why data roaming must be on for the eSIM line. The partner network can differ from plan to plan, so check the plan details, or ask us at support@esimlounge.com before you buy.

Tips for staying connected

  • Coverage may be patchy in the newer part of Terminal 2, where the airport says Wi-Fi is still being installed.
  • A 2026 travel guide says the login sometimes asks for a Vietnamese phone number. If it does, buy a SIM at the arrivals counters first.
